CBS was always an odd choice of network for Supergirl, and while The CW is a much better fit, there's nothing to say that those who tuned in to season one would follow the series to its new home. Well, they did, and so did a lot of other people it seems! Whether this can be attributed to Superman's appearance is hard to say, but the show is off to a strong start based on the information below.
What's interesting is that the press release below makes a point of noting that a lot of male viewers also tuned it, so the ratings boost clearly wasn't the result of the network's large female audience alone. Regardless, these numbers are all very impressive, and it's fair to say that the show has so far been a hit on The CW. It's going to be interesting to see how Supergirl performs in the coming weeks.
