When it was simultaneously announced that Marion Cotillard would be playing "Miranda Tate", and Joseph Gordon-Levitt would portray "John Blake", many fans automatically assumed that these were cover names - surely the two actors wouldn't be playing two unknown characters in a movie like The Dark Knight Rises?
