I AM Rouge has a great interview with the recently cast [well, apparently not recently] Richard Schiff, who confirms that he is indeed playing Emil Hamilton in Man of Steel. Here's more of what Schiff had to say:
In response to the opening question about filming Man of Steel:
Schiff: Yes… I am playing Superman.
Interviewer continues the jokes, compliments Schiff on the casting:
Schiff: Yes, I've been working out as much as I can.
How Schiff was cast for the role:
Schiff: It was offered to me quite a while ago. There was a lot of time between when they offered it and when I was actually going to end up shooting, because I'm slated for the last six weeks (of production) and I think they started shooting way back in August.
