| Sci-Fi Short ROSA Finds Its Writer |

Courtesy of Variety, news broke yesterday that newbie Will Dunn will be writing the live-action feature adaptation of Orellana‘s original short. Spanish comic book artist Jesus Orellana taught himself an animation program and made the short film with literally no budget! The short was shown at several festivals including the Seattle International Film Festival, then SITGES, Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, and many others, all to rave reviews. Something of a bidding war ensued before the project ultimately landed at 20th Century Fox.
Synopsis:Rosa is “an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem.
