SDCC '11: Andrew Garfield Speaks On Taking Over The Spider-Man Role From Tobey Maguire |

While at today’s 2011 Comic Con in San Diego, Andrew Garfield spoke to the press about finally taking over the role of Peter Parker aka Spider-man in the new reboot THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.
On the role of Spider-Man:
“I like the idea of a skinny kid beating up bad guys,” says Garfield. “It’s a dream of mine and what a way to do it so you can give other skinny kids in the audience that achievement as well.”
On stepping into Tobey Maguire's shoes:
“I love Tobey Maguire’s interpretation of the character,” says Garfield. “It’s one of the things that rekindles and reminds me how much his character means to me.
