Released in December 2011, Warner Bros. Pictures’ Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (a sequel to the 2009 revival of the popular character) has now hit $529 million in the worldwide box office, with an estimated $186.7 million domestically and $342.3 million internationally, surpassing its predecessor’s worldwide gross of $524.4 million. Below is an official announcement from WB: “Our successful box office continues to prove the appeal of Sherlock Holmes, especially in the hands of guy Ritchie and his amazing cast, led by Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law,” says Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution. “The film had outstanding results throughout the holidays and continued to gain traction well into 2012.” “Rolling out this film internationally has been tremendously exciting, as the film has clearly resonated with audiences around the globe,” added Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros.
