In a bit of unfortunate news, it seems that CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery will be moving on without showrunner Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, American Gods).
The announcement comes on the heels of a previous statement last month from CBS, indicating that the show would be debuting in May 2017 instead the the originally planned air date of January 2017. This delay was attributed to more time being needed to make the series the best it could be, along with Fuller's commitment to Starz' adaptation of American Gods.
CBS has announced that Fuller will be replaced by Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, longtime partners who worked with Fuller on programs such as Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls. Despite losing Fuller, CBS confirmed the show is still set for its May 2017 debut. You can read the network's full statement below.
