Indie Wire recently spoke with director Sam Mendes about his new film, "Skyfall," and he discussed his reluctance to make a Bond film, but was convinced by Daniel Craig, a friend of his since they worked on "Road to Perdition" together. Besides that the director also revealed that Chis Nolan's "The Dark Knight" had "directly inspired" his latest film.
"In terms of what [Nolan] achieved, specifically ‘The Dark Knight,’ the second movie, what it achieved, which is something exceptional. It was a game changer for everybody."
"We’re now in an industry where movies are very small or very big and there’s almost nothing in the middle.
