The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Lionsgate is eyeing Tom Holland to join their upcoming film adaptation of the popular dystopian young adult novel Chaos Walking. If he signs on, he'll portray the main character Todd Hewitt: a boy who after discovering a terrible secret about his hometown is forced to run away with his trusty dog.
The novel of the same name is the first in Patrick Ness' best-selling trilogy about a post-apocalyptic world where there are mysteriously no women, and all remaining living creatures can hear each other's thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise. The story follows the lead protagonist, who after making a startling discovery about the Noise, flees his hometown, and on his journey encounters a strange and mysterious creature: a girl - who ultimately joins the duo on their quest to discover the truth behind their existence.
Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) signed on back in August to play the female lead Viola Eade. Read more: |
