Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace was released in 1999 to a mixed reaction from critics and an overwhelmingly negative backlash from disappointed fans. Regardless, The Hollywood Reporter reveal that George Lucas and 20th Century Fox's decision to rerelease the film in 3D has resulted in it becoming only the 11th film ever to earn over $1 billion globally. Since being released a few weeks back, The Phantom Menace has earned $73.4 million, taking its total to $1,009.4 billion. The kicker?
