Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial) is back with another potentially brilliant oddity, which features The Dark Knight Rises' Anne Hathaway, and a bloody Kaiju.
The movie is called Colossal, and it's about a despondent woman named Gloria (Hathaway) who somehow conjures and then psychically controls a giant monster that begins laying waste to Tokyo. In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
The film premiered at Cannes last year to a generally favorable response, and based on the trailer below, it does certainly look... interesting, anyway.
