The Avengers Stars Address Chris Evans' Hesitance Taking Captain America Role |

Before negotiations were made, it's known the star of Marvel and Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger film, Chris Evans, had many doubts and flat-out revealed he was "scared" to fill the shoes of such an iconic character. Evidently overcoming his fears, with the film releasing in two weeks, Evans has apparently received more support, filming The Avengers, from co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth. Talking with the New York Times, check out what the actors had to say.
Mr. Downey was an early supporter of Mr. Evans, having quietly lobbied Mr. Evans’s agent to keep him from passing on “Captain America.”
“I did the Eastern medicine approach,” Mr. Downey explained. “Rather than apply direct pressure, I went to the furthest meridian point. [Evans] will work through these issues, Downey said, “because he has the main tool, the main arrow in his quiver already, and it’s that he’s communicative.” He Read more: |
