Deadline has the latest box office figures up for The Hunger Games and it's very good news for Lionsgate. Yesterday, the studio were rubbing their hands together at the prospect of a $140 Million weekend for Gary Ross' big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel. However, it has now hit the #1 spot in just about every territory, with studio reports today revealing that it has grossed $155M in North America after a $68M Friday and $51M Saturday (as well as a $36M hold expected today). The records it now holds include the third all-time biggest three-day opening, the highest non-sequel opening ever, the highest single day debut for a non-sequel ever, the highest March opening ever, the highest opening ever outside of the Summer blockbuster season and the 5th highest opening day of all-time.
