After Kenneth Branagh decided not to direct THOR 2, Marvel Studios hired Monster helmer Patty Jenkins. The release date was then pushed back to November 2013 and it wasn't too long after that news hit that Jenkins suddenly decided to pull out of the project. After a not particularly long search, the studio settled on Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor to take charge of the production, although it would now appear that there's still some work to do before shooting starts later this year. Deadline reports that Saving Private Ryan scribe Robert Rodat has been hired to rewrite the script for Taylor and is reworking a draft by Don Payne.
