Deadline is reporting that Amazon's upcoming spy drama Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan has enlisted Academy Award-nominated director Morten Tyldum to helm the series' pilot episode.
John Krasinski (The Hollars) will headline the series, which follows Clancy's beloved hero at an early stage in his career when he's an up-and-coming analyst at the CIA, who then finds himself thrust into a deadly field assignment for the very first time. We'll join Ryan as he begins to uncover a secret pattern in terrorist communication that puts him right smack dab in the center of a very dangerous new global threat.
Krasinski will be joined by Abbie Cornish (Geostorm) as Ryan's future lady love Cathy Muller, Wendell Pierce (The Odd Couple) as James Greer, Dina Shihabi (Dina Shihabi) as Hani, and Ali Suliman (Lone Survivor) as Suleiman.
