Tom Cruise's All You Need Is Kill is a science-fiction film based on a Japanese graphic novel of the same name. The story involves a soldier reliving his last day on Earth battling an alien race that has decimated the planet. Each day concludes with his death, but with each failure he gains new knowledge that can finally help him defeat the aliens for good. The movie has been called the science fiction version of Groundhog Day. Which I guess would make it Source Code?
Principal photography begins today, Monday, October 1. All You Need Is Kill will be the first movie to film at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden near London.
The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake.
