Auto Blog has the following statement from Acura spokesman Gary Robinson, who sheds some light on the decision to switch for his trademark Audi R8 to a vehicle which left motoring enthusiasts completely baffled; a mysterious Acura sports car. While this is pretty unexciting compared to the fantastic set photos of the cast we've seen over the past 48 hours, hopefully this will satisfy the curiosity of some!
"As you may know, Acura has been in the Marvel Comics Universe films as the official car of their fictional law enforcement agency called S.H.I.E.L.D. That relationship continues for The Avengers.
