I think it's safe to say that no one really saw this coming. Just recently, I interviewed actor Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) and he stated he was looking forward to meeting with Patty Jenkins to "presumably" begin discussing his role in Thor 2. I imagine he and a lot of the other cast members were caught off guard as were many of the fans. There's no quicker place to get the latest news and headlines than Twitter and within moments of the announcement from Deadline thoughts were flying fast and furiously about whether Marvel has dodged a bullet or made a huge mistake. Also, a lot of thoughts were put out there about who Marvel should turn to now following Jenkins departure.
