| UPDATE: IRON MAN 3 Filming To Pickup In Dania Beach, South Florida Next Month |

Marvel Studios announced in mid-August that filming for the third Robert Downey Jr. starrer had been halted, due to the actor sustaining a minor ankle injury. And while claiming the delay would be a “short” one, the production has been quiet ever since. However, despite Thor: The Dark World commencing principal photography this week, a date and new shooting location for Iron Man 3 has now been announced for next month.
According to Film Commissioner Noelle Stevenson via Sun Sentinel, the cast and crew of the much-anticipated Shane Black-directed film will head to Dania Beach and other areas around South Florida on October 1. “It is a great boost to our local economy, not to mention jobs for our local film crews,” Stevenson said. “Fifty percent to be precise need to be local crew members in order to receive the state of Florida's Film tax credit.”
