As most of you know, the character of Nick Fury was a white man in the comics until the Ultimate Marvel Universe, where he was changed to be an African-American, with his look and personality tailored after actor Samuel L. Jackson with the actor's permission. Jackson portrays Nick Fury in the 2008 film Iron Man and reprised the role in the sequel, and in Captain America: The First Avenger. He also appears uncredited as Fury in Thor, and is set to appear as in the 2012 film The Avengers.
