HBO has renewed Westworld for a second season, but there's a catch.
In a official statement from HBO, Casey Bloys, President of HBO Programming remarked, "I am thrilled to announce the pickup of our three fall series, all of which have distinctive, original voices. Critics and viewers alike have welcomed ‘Westworld’ and ‘Insecure,’ as well as the return of Sarah Jessica Parker to the network after 12 years with ‘Divorce.’
In its freshman season, Westworld is averaging 11.7 million viewers an episode, which is higher than what Game of Thrones or True Detective averaged in their first seasons, respectively.
In an exclusive discussion with THR, Bloys added, "Westworld is such a big, ambitious show. I don't know if it will be fall of 2017 or into '18. That will depend as we get up and running.
