Back in May, when the first set photos for Iron Man 3 hit, we saw a new type of Iron Man armor very similar to the Iron Patriot armor seen in the comics. Later on in production, that theory was debunked by sources at Latino Review, saying that the suit was simply War Machine's but with a color change. Now, new sources offer reason to believe that the character license will be used in Iron Man 3. New trademarked applications for Iron Patriot and Avengers Initiative on a variety of goods and services besides comics have appeared on the United States Patent and Trade Office website. After the giant success of The Avengers, new applications for the brand are expected , but not for a character like Iron Patriot.
