Writer Rhett Reese On Why Fans Shouldn't Expect Any Major X-MEN Cameos In DEADPOOL 2 |

Aside from trying to outdo its predecessor, Deadpool 2 already has a lot on its plate, including an introduction to new characters Cable and Domino and (apparently) laying the foundation for X-Force. With all that in mind, it still hasn't stopped fans (and even star Ryan Reynolds) from longing for some greater cohesion with the larger X-Men universe, specifically regarding the inclusion of "A-list" characters such as Wolverine or Charles Xavier.
Unfortunately, it seems like we'll have to wait a while longer before we see any sort of crossover of that sort. In a chat with Collider, Deadpool 2 writer Rhett Reese explained that while the team always keeps an open mind for special cameos, throwing a major X-Men character into the mix would undermine what Deadpool is all about.
