X-Men: First Class was directed by Matthew Vaughn and written by Jane Goldman from a story conceived by producer Bryan Singer. The story takes place in the '60s and focuses on the relationship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender), friends who become antagonists because of their differing philosophies about the place of mutants in the world. The cast includes Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee, January Jones as Emma Frost, Oliver Platt as The Man in Black, Lucas Till as Havok, Nicholas Hout as Beast, Jason Flemying as Azazel, Edi Gathegi as Darwin, Zoë Kravitz as Angel, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert and Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw.
