Forbes predicts that Marvel's The Avengers will top an incredible $1 billion by the end of next weekend. At the very least, it's expected to have no trouble reaching $900 million by Sunday, although less conservative estimates have it on course for much more. Earlier today, it was revealed that the superhero ensemble has grossed $702 million worldwide, and after taking an additional $18.9 yesterday, it only needs to make half of that per day for the rest of the week and it will have still amassed a whopping $100 million domestically by close of business on Sunday. All it then needs to do is earn a further $98 million internationally (by no means a difficult feat for the critically acclaimed blockbuster) and it is guaranteed to hit the $900 million mark mentioned above.
